Crystal junkie in the making
I started my crystal collection the other day. I read a book on crystals for beginners, ordered some crystals to get started from a reputable source, cleansed them when they arrived and set them in several different places around my house.
When my husband and I recently went on our honeymoon trip I made a few stops in a couple different gem/crystal shops and selected a few more.
I placed an amethyst and selenite on my bedside for better sleep, calming, and cleansing of my energy. Now let me tell you my sleep has improved. Now I am not a crystal specialist by any means, I am still learning all of this myself.
I became interested after listening to a wellness podcast. I started doing some research on it to find out more information. From the information, I found I was even more interested so I figured what can it hurt to give it a try. If this works great! If it doesn't well I will have pretty rocks displayed around my home.
I am pleased that it is working for me. This may not be the route for everyone but if it is something you are interested in I would suggest trying to find a crystal shop near you and walking through the whole place and seeing what crystals you seem to be drawn to.
Like which one do you think is the prettiest? Which one do you want to touch? Now if you do not have any crystal shops near you and need to order them to do your research so you are getting actual crystals and not fakes. When they come in the mail you will need to cleanse them. The purpose of this is because of all the energy that has touched them in the shipping process.
The book I read had a couple different ways of cleansing them. You can run them under water, set them out in the moonlight, or set them out in sunlight but not direct sunlight as that can damage them. So I set them out in the moonlight to cleanse the ones that I ordered.
These are the crystals I ordered.
The ones I found at some shops were selenite, a second citrine, red jasper, and howlite. I chose these because selenite is cleansing, you can even use it to cleanse your other crystals, red jasper is for grounding and focus, and howlite is good for knowledge. My oldest daughter found a crystal shop near us and picked out a green agate for healing. She wanted to help my body heal so I am myself again.
I have this one on my vanity and look at it every morning as I get ready for the day. It fills me with so much joy and positivity. That may be due to it having a deeper meaning since it came from my child but I will take it. It feels good to share this with my kiddos and for them to not feel like I am the weirdo. My husband and I try our best to teach our children to be open-minded and that no question is ever a dumb question.
I took my sodalite to work and have it in my office not far from my computer system because it combats radiation damage by soaking up electromagnetic smog. If you charge your phone near your bed I would definitely consider placing this there to help as well.
If any of this sounds interesting you you just go for it. That interest is the crystals calling to you. There are a ton of books on the use and meanings of crystals as well as apps you can use on your phone. If you start your crystal collection or have been deep in it for years I would love to hear more about it.
