Listen to your body
I feel like I am figuring this out. I want to thank you guys for joining me on this journey. I have so much I want to share. I want to provide you information, but I also want this to feel like we are just having a chat together. Hopefully, you will feel that from each new post I send out.
So I have been listening to my body more to give it what it is asking for. Some days it craves more fuel than others.
This means that some days I eat a large breakfast, large lunch, small dinner, and snacks in between. On other days I have some matcha in the morning, eat a late breakfast (more like brunch), late lunch, and a small dinner.
Just the other day, I felt starving all day long. I had taken a bagel with cream cheese, a rainbow wrap, cheese cubes, pretzels, and 2 different drinks to work with me, and I was hungry about 2 hours after each meal.
I ran out of food by 12:30 and had to run to the store during my lunch hour to get more.
I was still starving when I got home and ended up having 3 tacos, a muffin, and some cowboy caviar.
Today I did not eat my breakfast until 11:00 am. I just was not hungry this morning. I ate my lunch around 2:30 pm and probably won't eat a huge dinner.
I listen and give my body what it wants. Some days can be rest, food, movement, comfort, or socialization. Listen, if you are craving chocolate, your body is searching for something you can get from it that it is missing.
Did you know that dark chocolate contains copper, manganese, magnesium, iron, and fiber?
Now that doesn't mean go and grab a shit ton of chocolate and overindulge. Find a good balance where you are giving your body the "medicine," aka food it needs, without going to extremes.
Another thing that has really helped me with my eating is chewing. Yes, I know this sounds silly. Who doesn't chew their food? Actually, a lot of us do not chew ENOUGH. I started being mindful while chewing and enjoying my meals more.
I feel like I am tasting the flavors more while treating, and my constipation has almost become non-existent. My love for food is returning. I look forward to this journey making me grow and learn to truly love myself from the inside out.
