Finding products when you have sensitive skin have lots of trial and error

I developed a rash on both armpits from the natural deodorant I used. It was very disappointing because I did really like the smell and feel of the brand I was using.

As soon as I broke out, I stopped using it to try to get rid of the rash. But it developed into large welts.

I mean, like dime size red bumps that hurt to the touch. It was challenging to put my arms down to my side as that would hurt. How do you constantly keep your arms up?

I lowered my chair in my office to set my arms on the desk and have some distance from my skin touching itself in my pits. I would lounge back in the reclining loveseat in the evenings with my arms behind my head.

I tried doing bentonite clay masks several times to draw out anything I had deep in the epidermis that was having such a wild reaction. I also did a charcoal mask to thoroughly cleanse and calm down the inflamed areas.

I could barely shave because it hurt so bad. I ended up buying myself a laser hair removal system so I could stop shaving in general. I found it on amazon for a reasonable price. I figured, "let's just do it; you have been wanting one for years now."

I have been using it for 4 weeks now, and the results thus far are ...

In the evenings, after my showers, I would put a mixture of vitamin E and Ginger oil on my pits before bed.

I bought a new brand of deodorant, and it seems to be working and not making me break out. I ended up giving my daughter the one I was using, so it would not be wasted or tossed in the trash.

The rash is finally gone. The last 4 weeks have felt like forever. I had moments of despair and breakdown, thinking and saying, "Why do I have to have such sensitive skin and allergies to almost everything?" "Why can't I just be normal?"

What is normal? It is perfectly ok to not be the same as others. I have these issues for a purpose. That purpose is to share information with others. To let people know they are not alone. Let people know or better understand those of us with these issues. Share the failures and the successes. What I do may not work for you or your loved one, but it can be inspiring and comforting.

If you or a loved one feels down because you are not like others, know you are not alone! There are many others like you. You just need to find those spirits and grow your community. In this new day and age of social media, we can utilize it to our advantage. When used positively, it can bring people together and build communities.

Find those communities. Share your stories. Learn from others' stories. Remember that what works for one may not work for another. Use this as inspiration and a starting point to find what works for you.

I want to know. What do you think?
