8 Things I wish I knew 10 years ago
Sometimes I like to lay in bed all day and watch TV. You know, just relax, catch up on my shows, and just be a bum all day.
With my comfy loungewear and a blanket, I snuggled up in my bed and watched several of my YouTube channels, where a lovely creator put on makeup and told me a true crime story.
These are two of my favorite things in one. True crime and makeup. Ooo, how I have missed putting on makeup. I love how you can change it and bring out some of your personality with makeup. It is like art, a creative expression displayed on your face.
My favorite true crime and makeup creator is Bailey Sarian. If you love true crime and make-up, it is worth a look.
Back to my day of relaxing! So, I got all caught up on all the past videos I have missed due to life. Got my fill of true crime, lots of ideas for makeup looks, and several recipes to test out.
Taking a day to relax and veg out felt so great.
After what I put my body through for my colonoscopy and endoscopy, I am still not fully recovered. Yes, the bloating went down, and my digestion is improving daily. My energy levels have not gone back to normal.
I have not been sleeping well and have had a crash and burn midday lately. I did recently start taking a sleep aid from HUM Nutrition. For the first week of taking it, I felt like I slept well and was not having difficulty getting up in the mornings.
I was still having the afternoon slump. I am getting adequate sleep, hydrating, eating healthy, and moving when possible. So, what could I be lacking that I still have the slump?
A few things that could contribute to this are a lack of vitamin D, your hormones being out of whack, or too much cortisol. Since I had my yearly checkup with my physician, I asked her to do a blood test to check my hormone and cortisol levels.
Tips
What can you do if you have some deficiencies causing this slump? To balance out your hormones, repair your gut, and lower cortisol naturally, you can:
1. eat enough protein with each meal
2. Exercise
3. Get adequate sleep
4. Maintain a healthy weight
5. Fix your gut health
6. Eat a high-fiber diet
7. Lower your sugar intake
8. Reduce stress
This wellness junkie is already doing all of this, so now it is just a waiting game for things to finish balancing out to feel my best.
I want to know. What do you think?
